1. Build Quality
5/10 - Although the body being made of entirely plastic, the matte finish on the paint gives the keyboard a premium feel compared to most off-the-shelf keyboards. The keyboard does have a metal counterweight, but is still light and not as rigid. The screw alignment on the back of the keyboard is off-center with the screw holes, leaving them uneven and asymmetrical. Tri-mode switch, LED switch, and knob are snappy and give little-to-no wobble.
2. Functionality
6/10 - Being tri-mode, able to connect to multiple devices wirelessly and wired. The keyboard comes with marshmallow box switches which feel great stock without needing to modify them and is hot-swappable, being able to change and/or modify the switches. Little-to-no wobble on the spacebar and mod kits; feels even throughout the keys. Downloading and configuring the keyboard through the software is confusing and has an unfinished look. RGB is bright and vibrant, and has a variety of customization with different lighting effects. The screen and knob add a nice touch of customization as you are able to change the function of them through the software.
3. Keycap Quality
5/10 - The keycaps have a smooth matte finish, matching the body, with little to no shine even after extended use. The lettering is symmetrical, and legible, and ensures ease of use. The mod kit shows minimal warping, with only the spacebar exhibiting slight warping (noted on our review unit, though quality may vary). Additionally, a few keycaps had minor excess plastic at the base, though this did not affect functionality. To enhance the experience, the set includes extra spare keycaps and tools, providing added convenience and value.
4. Typing Comfort
6/10 - Has two levels of elevation, but the keyboard seems to be on the taller side regardless of level. Having an additional wrist rest is recommended. The keyboard is installed with plate foam and padding under the PCB, making the keyboard feel and sound nice to type on for longer periods. Keys are evenly spaced and are easy to reach doesn't require much movement of the hands to reach all proximity of the keyboard. 5. Design Creativity
3/10 - When it comes to creativity, the CMK75 by FL-Esports falls into a relatively standard category, offering limited innovation in its design and features. While the inclusion of a TFT mini-screen and a customizable knob provides a touch of uniqueness, these elements are becoming increasingly common in the mechanical keyboard market and don't necessarily elevate it to a standout position. The RGB implementation is bright and offers a variety of lighting effects, but its execution is quite standard and doesn't introduce any groundbreaking visual or functional features. Additionally, the 3000mAh battery, while sufficient, feels outdated compared to newer models featuring 4000mAh or even 8000mAh batteries for extended longevity, putting the CMK75 slightly behind in terms of modern battery expectations.
OVERALL SCORE - 5/10
For $94 or C$130, a solid budget keyboard that is comparable to the Keychron v1. If you are looking for a keyboard that has a good amount of customization, RGB, and minimalist, this keyboard would be a good pick.
